The first ingredient that you will notice in our dog food is Pork Meat. The American Kennel Club indicates that “pork is a highly digestible animal protein, an excellent source of amino acids, and a unique protein source that not all pets are typically exposed to. It’s less likely to cause an allergic reaction that some pets may have to other proteins. We recommend pork as a protein because it contains more calories per pound.” In addition, pork is considered a neutral protein, meaning it’s not heating or cooling and that’s why nutritionists prefer pork as a protein for dogs, because it does not cause digestive or skin issues. Active, hunting dogs require plenty of protein and that’s why our food has at least 27% of high quality pork proteins.
